ETHIOPIAN CUISINE

Ethiopian cuisine is a vibrant and flavorful journey for the senses. Meals are centered around injera, a spongy, sour flatbread, and accompanied by a variety of spicy stews and vegetables that are both hearty and aromatic. The dishes are rich with bold spices and unique flavors, offering a complex and satisfying taste experience. Eating is a communal event, often shared among family and friends, making every meal a celebration.

THE TRIBES OF THE OMO VALLEY

The Hamar Tribe is just one of many unique tribes in the Omo Valley. Known for their bull-jumping ceremony, where young men prove their bravery by leaping over bulls, the Hamar are cattle herders and farmers. Their culture is defined by intricate hairstyles, beaded jewelry, and elaborate body adornments. Women decorate their hair with red ochre and butter, while men wear feathers and beads.

ADDIS ABABA - THE NEW FLOWER

Perched 2,355 meters above sea level, Addis Ababa is not just Ethiopia’s capital—it’s the beating heart of Africa. Founded in the late 19th century by Emperor Menelik II and Empress Taytu Betul, the city moved from the cool heights of Entoto to a valley of hot springs called Finfinne. Its name, meaning “New Flower,” reflects exactly what it became: a vibrant bloom of cultures, ideas, and spirit.

Today, Addis is a city where the old and new dance together. You can stand before Lucy at the National Museum, sip traditional coffee while jazz drifts through the air, or watch the sunset from Entoto’s hills. From Merkato’s lively maze to the peace of Sheger Park, every corner tells a story—of heritage, warmth, and renewal.

Here, modern Africa meets ancient roots. Addis Ababa doesn’t just welcome you; it stays with you
